Lovely pub, but if you definitely want to get seated, I would recommend to book. Lovely food and drinks. We was waiting 45 minutes for the lamb, bit it was really tasty!
We had a table reservation which was essential. It was very crowded and the table we had was very tight but the staff came and took our orders promptly and were always happy to assist when we needed. The menu was fairly typical pub food but some of the fried food was somewhat greasy. The bangers and mash I had was pretty good. The beer selection was good but small but the wines by the glass were very average.
A lovely cosy find in the middle of Hexham, serving a wide range of beers and some traditional and some more adventurous pub food, at a reasonable price. The service was warm and welcoming, the food served looking good as well as tasting good, and pretty quickly. A place to visit again, given the chance.
