I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The museum was very interesting and the Roman ruins were extensive. Coffee shop wasn't bad but menu could have been better
One of the best museums i have ever been to. The artefacts on show are mind blowing especially the texts. Lady on the desk was really passionate about her job and incredibly helpful. Definitely buy the dual ticket and go to the roman army museum up the road as well. This is honestly one of the best museums in the country.
The best museum and historical site I've ever visited. The fort is huge, well explained, and easy to wander around. It will take half a day to do it properly. I took 4 kids and they loved it. Do it with Housesteads nearby for a full day experience.
Wonderful place to visit, loads to see and do. Ample parking, fantastic cafe and shop, really friendly staff who are very knowledgeable. Hilly in places, and uneven ground so trainers or walking boots recommended. Can be breezy and chilly depending on time of year.
One of my favourite museum's ever! Amazing all of the well preserved Roman artifacts. Glass, shoes, wooden writing tablets. Outside and inside, lots to see. Cafe very good
